This week, we had the distinct pleasure of testing an extra-large SUV, courtesy of General Motors’ premium GMC brand. We came away very impressed, but the price has us a bit dismayed.
2025 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate - What Is It?
The Yukon is an extra-large SUV from GMC. It features three rows of seating, with each spot providing comfort for adults. Denali Ultimate means this is the fancy one.
2025 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate - The Price
We’ll start with price, since it needs to be said. Including the Destination fee, this vehicle has a price of $108,995. Add dealer Doc fees to that, and you have the cost before any discounts. You certainly get a lot of vehicle with the Yukon, but that price wowed us.
2025 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate - What Makes It Special?
The Yukon Denali Ultimate is super capable. It can tow anything you need to tow. If can carry a big family. It is supremely comfortable. The powertrain is superb. The GM line of full-size SUVs is arguably the best the world has to offer a buyer.
The interior really made an impression on us. It’s two parts luxury and one part utility. For example, there are buttons and knobs you can operate with gloves, plust a tough screen to do most of those things if you want. And you can just talk to it. You decide.
There are practical, but nicely made rubber utility mats on the floors and in the cargo area. They cover deep carpet.
We found the infotainment system to be the best we’d ever tested. A huge screen offers an amazing view using (wireless) Android Auto and Google Maps’ satellite view. The audio system from Bose was the best we’d ever heard from that brand. The seats feature massage functions.
2025 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate - The Drive
The Yukon is a bit bigger than can be called fun to drive, but it is very satisfying to operate. The air ride suspension swallows up road imperfections superbly. The handling is crisp. On the highway, we used Super Cruise, and it worked wonderfully, allowing us to drive hands-free when appropriate.
2025 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate - Our Take
There are large families in America with the financial security to purchase large luxury SUVs, and GM knows their needs. It’s hard to imagine how any SUV could top the Yukon Denali Ultimate. Every aspect of it seems to have been designed and built to the very highest standards. If you have the means, we highly recommend it.
